GERMAN AMERICAN COMMITTEE - ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI
MISSION:


To create and maintain strong and cohesive and visible German/American cultural ties.

The GERMAN/AMERICAN COMMMITTEE OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, INC. was founded as the GERMAN/AMERICAN TRICENTANNIAL OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI in 1983. This year represented the 300th anniversary of the first permanent settlement by Germans in the America. The organization adopted its present name shortly after the tricentannial celebration and is incorporated in the state of Missouri.

Mission Statement

•To act as an umbrella and coordinating organization consisting of German/American organizations in the greater St. Louis geographic region.

•To create and maintain strong and cohesive and visible German/American cultural ties.

•To educate and work with other cultural organizations as to methods of improving the German/American relationship.

•To promote and organize events to educate the general public regarding the German/American heritage.

•To raise the necessary monies to carry out the programs initiated by the Organization.

Membership in the German/American Committee is open to all organizations promoting German/American culture.

Regular meetings are held on the second Monday of the month.
